When we got to venice we got to take a walking tour through the city, eat pizza and then wander around for hours on our own until we got to go on a Gondola ride! Although it was beautiful I must say it smelled quiet terrible which I really was not expecting, so that surprised me, but the Gondola ride was not very long so we were not stuck sitting in the smell very long either. We also got to have a private glass blowing demo which was amazing, the man made a glass Horse in only about two minutes! There was so much beautiful glass work in the giant store they had to but I only had the chance to quickly capture the one really colourful chandelier.

We also got the opportunity to go out to the immensely colourful and beautiful Island of Burano where we had an amazing meal and the chance to take in the beautiful sights. I must say I actually enjoyed the island much more then venice, it did not have the same rich history but it was absolutely beautiful and very quiet as we were pretty much the only tourists there. We were also told that the houses were all painted differently as you can see in the pictures above, because when the people of Burano came back to the island late at night it helped them to recognize which house was theirs from the water so that they did not dock in the wrong place.

All in all it was a great couple of days wondering and getting lost in two very amazing places!
